Case Study: Crow Coffee Packaging & Branding

 

Objective

Crow Coffee wanted to create a bold, modern brand identity for their single-serve coffee packs. The goal was to design packaging that conveyed strength, sophistication, and artisanal quality, while appealing to coffee enthusiasts seeking both flavor variety and convenience.

Process

  • Research: Analyzed leading specialty coffee packaging to understand design cues (textures, typography, roast differentiation).
     
  • Concept Development: Centered the brand around the crow icon — a symbol of strength and intelligence — paired with industrial, distressed typography to create a gritty yet premium look.
     
  • Packaging Design: Designed dark, minimalist pouches with metallic undertones and a bold crow silhouette for instant recognition. Developed roast-level identifiers (Dark Roast, Blonde Roast, Breakfast Roast, American Roast) to support a full product line.
     
  • Campaign Extension: Created promotional graphics with dynamic coffee bean imagery, bold text treatments, and clean product shots to highlight freshness and variety.
